Nit-picking
This phrase has taken on a whole different meaning. You will know what I am talking about if you have ever had children with lice. Because now I have literally been "nit"picking (the word for the egg of lice that is laid on the hair chaff. It doesn't come out unless you pull them out of the hair) for the last 3 days. Sariah has lice and has probably had it for a while but we didn't know. I have been pulling live lice and nits out for a few day for hours at a time. The poor thing. It is no fun for her either. We have stopped finding adult lice but there are still nits in her hair. We found a lice in Alison's hair as well this morning and about 10 nits. I picked them all out of her hair. I even cut Sariah's hair to make it easier to get them all out. I guess it is really common to have them here. Part of life on a warm island. Hawaii is close to paradise but still part of the fallen world. :)
